Khow your brain.Your brain is at the center of everything you do.. M. Naser Chowdhury
Stroke is even called as a “BRAIN ATTACK”. It occurs when our brain doesn’t get enough blood supply. Without adequate supply of oxygen, nerve cells of the brain can’t work and die within minutes. In fact, “Without blood supply 20 lakh brain cells may die per minute”.
Your brain is at the center of everything you do. Your ability to think, talk, feel, sing, and dance all goes back to your brain, and those brain cells need oxygen, too. When nerve cells can’t work, the area of the body they control can’t work properly and may get damaged permanently.
There are two types of stroke:-
TIA are Transient Ischemic Attacks that occur when an artery that brings blood to your brain gets clogged up and blood can’t flow through it. This is the most common type.
Hemorrhagic strokes happen when a blood vessel in or around your brain leaks or bursts. It’s also called a bleeding stroke. These are less common.
The common Symptoms we find in a person includes
Sudden numbness or weakness of the face, weakness in arm or leg especially on one side of the body,
confusion or difficulties while speaking or understanding,
sudden loss of vision in one or both eyes,
dizziness or loss of balance and coordination between body and mind.
How we can diagnose?
We can diagnose it by MRI and CT scans and even with MR-angiograms, CT-angiograms and Cerebral angiography provide complementary, important information regarding the location of the vessel occlusion, the degree of brain tissue affected, and the collateral circulation to the affected part of the brain.
